Samsung Leads in 4 of the 5 South East Asian Smartphone Markets

Smartphone shipments to South East Asian markets grew by 10% over the previous quarter, in Q3 2015. Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia in that order were the largest smartphone markets in the region, for the quarter. Shipments to these five countries in Q3 2015 constituted 13% of the overall shipments to the APAC region. Indonesia accounted for 41% of these shipments and has strong presence of local players, a trend similar to that witnessed in markets such as Philippines. Samsung though leads in four out of these five markets and consolidated its leadership in sync with the global trends.
