LAVA and Google Team up for Android One Resurrection

by Rajeev Nair | Nov 10, 2015

LAVA is likely to come out with a new budget smartphone on the Android One platform soon. With this Google would be taking another stab at the failed Android One initiative in India. The initiative lost momentum with OEM’s backing off due to supply chain issues and Google’s rigid guidelines. The second coming has some of these issues getting addressed by the firm.

Micromax, Karbonn and Spice were among the local handset vendors who had partnered with Google in the first phase of Android One project, LAVA follows suit in the second attempt. The vendor is among the top 5 smartphone makers in India in Q3 2015, per our latest report available here.
