Coolpad to Lose its Smartphone Market Share in China

by Woody Oh | Aug 12, 2015

Coolpad, which is not well-known in overseas market, but one of the strongest smartphone brands in China along with Huawei, ZTE and Lenovo, keeps losing its competitiveness in smartphone market in China based on the latest report, 'China Smartphone Vendor and OS Marketshare : Q2 2015', published under Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) service.

Coolpad, which used to post the robust smartphone market share in TD-SCDMA segment between 2013 and 2014 in China, is now lagging behind its local rivals such as Huawei, Xiaomi, vivo and Oppo in China, with its China smartphone market share sharply falling in Q2 2015 against its peakest Q2 2014. However, it might be worth noting that its online-brand, Dazen, with the cooperation from Qihoo 360 will be likely to help this flagging company revive its market share in China over the next couple of quarters.

The detailed smartphone market share of Coolpad in China and non-Chinese region can be found at the report, which is available to our HCST clients.
