Upcoming Galaxy A8 To Bridge Samsung's Flagship and Mid-tier Line-Ups

by Woody Oh | Jul 09, 2015

Samsung is planning to unveil the new Galaxy A-branded A8 smartphone, starting from China in the next few weeks, which is believed to be the slimmest smartphone manufactured ever by the Korean smartphone giant. Galaxy A8 is also expected to feature metal-frame, a very bright F1.9 of aperture, a fingerprint sensor supporting Samsung Pay, an ultra-thin bezel on Full HD Super AMOLED display and micro SD slot.

We believe that Samsung is positioning this new A series phone as a bridging device between mid-range and flagship devices, and hence, is focusing on camera quality, GPU, display and fingerprint sensor to get differentiated from the other mid to high-tier smartphones that Samsung is fiercely competing with in China and other developed/emerging markets.

We are tracking the global shipments of Galaxy A and E series, Samsung's new line-ups for mid to high-tier smartphone category, at this report under our Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) service, which can be viewed to our clients.
