Samsung has introduced its 4th generation Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. Both models offer iterative updates of the previous generation models, including improvements to displays and cameras. Pricing for both models remain unchanged from 2021.

The new Fold 4 and Flip 4 are the best yet from Samsung. They offer a refined foldable experience and are more usable than ever.

Samsung is expected to capture an ~80% share of the global foldables smartphone market in 2022. There is currently no other vendor positioned to challenge Samsung in the ultra-premium smartphone segment that it has created.

Samsung's only competition in the segment is in China, a market that it is largely locked out of, allowing Chinese competitors to flourish there. Outside of China, Samsung is largely unchallenged in the foldables segment.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Fold Flip offer iterative improvements over last year’s models. Better displays, cameras and overall quality make these the best foldables ever. But these are still among the most expensive smartphones on the market and Samsung will need to work hard to build excitement with consumers for its newest foldable offerings.
