Samsung Predicted to be No.1 in LatAm 5G in 2023

by Neil Mawston | Mar 17, 2022

New research (here) from our Emerging Device Techs (EDT) service predicts Samsung will be the no.1 largest 5G smartphone OEM in the important Latin America region by 2023.

Facing fierce competition from Apple iPhone, Motorola and Xiaomi, Samsung is finally starting to fightback today with improved 5G Android models across markets such as Brazil and Mexico.

Samsung's famous foldables, such as Z Flip 3, will be particularly important in the fightback for LatAm buyers during the next two years. Those LatAm influencers with deep pockets, who can afford a "latest and greatest" foldable, above $1000, can help to nudge other regional consumers toward a foldable 5G design that most rivals (like Apple) do NOT yet offer. Samsung has something different for Latin America.
