We notice
Ufone, a mobile operator, has this month introduced a new
eSIM program in
Pakistan.
This is Pakistan's
first-ever eSIM rollout.
The launch
eliminates the need for physical installation of a hard SIM card inside a
smartphone or IoT module.
The Ufone "soft" eSIM platform enables subscribers with a compatible 4G handset to integrate
multiple SIM-card numbers directly into their smartphone, using the internet. This is useful in a region where multi-SIM swapping is common.
G&D is the manager in the background rolling out eSIM across the country. This is a good win for the German firm in under-penetrated Asia.
