Speculative news out of Asia this week suggests
Samsung Display could be about to supply more
foldable screens to
non-Samsung smartphone makers later this year.
It means foldable-screen
yields in factories may finally be improving. Output is rising.
It means premium smartphone brands -- such as (say)
Apple iPhone or Google Pixel -- might be able to get their hands on more bendy displays.
Samsung already has an emerging portfolio of
foldable phones, such as Galaxy Z Fold2 or
Z Flip. If the rumors are correct, other Android or iOS handset vendors may well be about to join them.
