A Power Bank in Your Stocking?

by User Not Found | Dec 18, 2018

With the holidays approaching, tis the season for searching for gifts for friends and family. Back in the day, the most important thing to add to your holiday shopping list, beyond the actual presents, were packs and packs of batteries ranging from triple-A through double-A, C, D and 9-volt batteries.  Woe to the parent that bought the remote controlled car for their kid for Christmas, but forgot the batteries!

Today things are simpler – nearly every device comes with a rechargeable battery built in. But those portable devices still need to be topped off from time-to-time, and a wall-charger isn’t always handy. That’s why portable battery packs have become must have (or give) gifts for the modern holiday season.

Strategy Analytics forecasts annual growth of power bank sales volumes in North America of 16% in 2018, and globally by 135% over the next five years. Asia is the biggest market globally and is poised for steady growth.

I’m pretty sure I’ll find a power bank in my stocking on December 25. If you want to know where the rest of the power banks will end up, Strategy Analytics’ Emerging Device Technologies report Power Bank Volumes & Values Forecast to 2023 will answer your questions. Clients of our EDT practice can access the report here.
