TCL-Alcatel Sells Half Its Phone Business

After years of relentless decline and disastrous missteps, TCL-Alcatel has finally admitted defeat and sold half its mobile phone business to outside investors. The vendor makes TCL, Alcatel and Blackberry handsets. Can it save the company’s cellphone unit from extinction? Will it morph from OEM to ODM? Will the unit be shut down?
