Handsets volumes grew by 2% for the full-year 2015 to set a new shipment record. Despite this annual growth slowed in the final quarter as emerging regional economies stuttered and North American consumers reacted to desubsidization by delaying upgrades, according to Strategy Analytic's new report Vendor Share: Global Handset Markets by Region: Q4 2015.
Latin America and CE Europe were weak, Asia, Western Europe and North America were mixed, while Africa Middle East expanded swiftly. Huawei & TCL-Alcatel overtook Microsoft in Western Europe, while Micromax entered the global top-ten.
