If you want to remove your digital footprint, other than laborious work to determine all of your accounts, your comments on social media, blogs, shopping sites, forums, banks, job sites and a plethora of other places, you needed to engage the services of a company that would do that work for you. Or so they claimed.
There were three flaws to that:
- it required at least one person to see the information you wanted to be deleted
- the diligence of the operator has a large impact to deletion success.
- there is no guarantee they could get the data deleted
