This report presents the findings of Strategy Analytics’ study of existing wearable device owners in Shenzhen, China, investigating their motivations to purchase, current usage, and future expectations of wearable devices. Except for basic fitness tracking features, wearable device owners in China are likely to use their device to receive voice call notifications and track sleep status. Though most participants were generally satisfied with the wearable device they have, the physical design, distance of connection and localization of fitness data, were the main causes of dissatisfaction. Beyond tracking fitness and health data, Chinese consumers expressed the greatest interest in family care use cases.
