Twitter has launched a music app aimed at enhancing music discovery, and has successfully achieved that goal with the caveat that users also have a paid subscription to either Spotify or Rdio – if they want to hear the whole track and not just a brief preview. The interface is very intuitive and provides many useful methods of discovering new music, while allowing users to easily follow their favorite music artists. However, the associated costs with the 3rd party streaming music services, lack of offering for Android devices, and the need for a completely separate app from Twitter could drastically slow the adoption rate and cause frustration for users with an otherwise seamless music discovery experience.
