In the first half of 2014, smartphone owners in the US and UK were most likely to be interested in a device with a 4.7” display – the same size as in the second half of 2013. Consumers showed greater interest in slightly larger devices, with higher interest in 5.2” and above prototypes increasing compared to previous research findings. The majority of consumers selected a device with a bigger display than their current phone as their most preferred, with consumers showing preference for incremental size increases.
