Report Summary:

In April 2014, Strategy Analytics interviewed 16 existing mobile payment service users in Shenzhen, China. This report presents the findings of this study investigating their behaviors, and concerns in these services. Shenzhen Tong and Alipay are the most common mobile payment services that these participants have adopted. Discounts and deals were the main incentives to start using these services, while the convenience associated with them is the main reason why participants keep using them. With concerns related to security, consumers claimed that they are likely to only use mobile payment services on their smartphones to make small payments in physical stores. However, most participants claimed that using smartphones to replace cash and bank cards would bring more benefits than concerns.
