OECD Mobile Voice and Data Price Benchmarking Q4 2019 update:

Note: The service has now changed its name from OECD Mobile Voice Price Benchmarking to OECD Mobile Voice and Data Price Benchmarking.

The Q4 2019 update of the OECD Mobile and Data Voice Price Benchmarking service is now available for download. For a very low residential user (making 30 calls a month totalling just over 50 minutes, and with a 100 MB mobile data requirement and 100 text messages), the Sosh €4.99 tariff from Orange, France, with 100 MB is the cheapest offer, at USD PPP 6.34 per month. The PAGYG Everything £5 plan from UK operator EE is only slightly more expensive, at USD PPP 6.50. At the upper end in terms of cost is Verizon, at over USD PPP 36, almost 6 times the cost of the both the Sosh Orange and the EE offers.

In addition to the 37 OECD countries, Brazil has also been included for this update, with coverage of three Brazilian operators, Vivo Brazil, Claro and TIM.

The November 2019 update for Mobile Voice and Data service incorporates the new OECD 2017 baskets. The 2017 baskets are shown in the table below, reflecting a much broader range of usage profiles than the 2010 baskets, and introducing unlimited voice and SMS into selected baskets, as well as much higher data requirements.


The 2010 baskets are still available within the system, however, along with the custom facility. In addition to the inclusion of the new baskets, it is now possible to view the results in a wider range of currencies.

Additional operators in selected countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, USA) are available on request as part of the OECD Mobile Voice and Data Price Benchmarking Premium Service.
