OECD Mobile Voice and Data Price Benchmarking Q2 2021 update:

The Q2 2021 update of the OECD Mobile and Data Voice Price Benchmarking service is now available for download. For a residential user with a high call and moderate data (making 300 calls a month totaling just over 577 minutes, and with a 5 GB mobile data requirement and 225 text messages), the Cellcom Week Basket 150GB 5G tariff from Israeli operator Cellcom is the cheapest overall, at USD PPP 7.54 per month. Next cheapest are the Dev 80 GB tariff from Turkcell in Turkey (at USD PPP 9.69/month), the Smart LU SIM only 5G tariff from Tango in Luxembourg (at USD PPP 9.71/month), and the My Prepaid Epic Value tariff from Optus in Australia (at USD PPP 9.76/month). The tariffs from both Tango and Optus match the data requirement of the basket precisely, at 5 GB, while the Cellcom tariff offers a staggering 150 GB per month, and the Turkcell tariff an impressive 80 GB per month.

At the other end, T-Mobile in Hungary comes in as the most expensive for this basket, at USD PPP 76.60/month for the Mobil L 15 GB tariff, while second most expensive with its 4G All -you-can-use Max, Flate rate call light tariff coming in at USD 60.26 is KDDI au of Japan.

5G tariffs are starting to feature more in the results, with some 5G plans featuring as the overall cheapest for this basket.

The Q2 2021 update for Mobile Voice and Data service incorporates the OECD 2017 baskets, which are shown in the table below.
