OECD Mobile Broadband Price Benchmarking Q4 2019 update: 10 cheapest and 10 most expensive countries for 1GB per month Vs 10GB per month baskets.

The Q4 2019 update of the OECD Mobile Broadband Price Benchmarking service is now available for download, and includes over 1,680 mobile broadband tariff plans from 115 providers across 38 countries, now including Brazil, featuring data from Vivo, TIM and Claro in the system.

The graph below shows the variation in the cost of 1GB per month basket of data, across the 10 cheapest and 10 most expensive countries. 

The 3 cheapest countries Poland, Israel and Switzerland position themselves with offers under USD PPP 5. Compare this to Japan and Colombia which are more than 7 and 10 times the cost respectively, and more than 3 times the average cost across the OECD countries.

The new entrant, Brazil, ranks favourably in the ninth place just before Spain in tenth place, both with offers under USD PPP 8.5.
