South Korea's 5G Market Carries Over 20% of Traffic in December 2019

South Korea had 4.7 million 5G subscriptions by the end of 2019, 6.8% of total market volumes. Subscription growth has slowed and is need of new smartphone launches. 5G accounted for 21% of data traffic in December, with average 5G use 2.8x 4G levels. The much narrower 31% gap between use on unlimited plans on 5G and 4G highlights the high level of migration of higher-value 4G consumers to 5G.
