Report Summary:

Despite challenging times in many developed markets, Strategy Analytics forecasts healthy growth in mobile broadband connectivity for PCs and modems. Impacted by smartphone and tablet growth, coupled with weak economic conditions, modem service revenue has fallen in many markets. However, operators in emerging markets will still unlock good growth potential as they use 3G, and more importantly 4G LTE, to meet basic broadband connectivity needs. In developed markets, faster networks and improved pricing options, such as greater availability of shared data plans, will offer growth potential for connectivity in the increasing base of Wi-Fi devices, to be shared between external modems and smartphone tethering.
