Fixed Broadband: Speed is king, but at what price?

Report Summary:

The average advertised download speed of services across the OECD countries is now in excess of 130 Mb/s[1], with 20% of services offering speeds of 200 Mb/s or more.

Users can expect to pay almost double for a 100 Mb/s + service, compared to a basic broadband service. Bulgaria (Bulsatcom), Lithuania (Init), Latvia (Livas), Romania (UPC) and the Slovak Republic (Swan/Max Multiemedia) consistently offer the least expensive offers.

For users requiring higher speeds of 50 Mbp/s, the US (Verizon), Cyprus (CYTAnet) and Colombia (Claro) feature as the most expensive, based on the lowest overall offer per country.
