Report Summary:

Overall, the first quarter of 2016 was flat for North American Pay TV operators.  During the quarter, tracked operators added only 2,000 new subscribers, following strong growth during the fourth quarter.  Over the past 12 months, the industry has seen total subscriber declines, but far less than the doomsday predictions for cord cutting.  In fact, three out of the last five quarters have seen positive subscriber numbers for the industry.

This interactive database summarizes quarterly subscriber growth trends for the 26 leading Digital Pay TV Operators operating in the United States and Canada, comprising 96% of the North American digital market and 93% of the total North American market. The benchmark report tracks operator-level subscribers and selected financial metrics, including historical data.  The report also contains a flat file of all data, allowing clients to create customized pivot tables.
