Broadband Prices Driven by Increasing Speeds

Download Report

Report Summary:

This short insight considers some of the results from the recently published OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking Service from Teligen. Across the 40 countries covered within the service, residential users can expect to pay on average, between USD PPP 27 and USD PPP 68 per month for broadband and related services (phone and television), while the incremental cost of multiplay can range from just over 8 USD PPP per month to in excess of 21 USD PPP per month. The key change going forward is likely to be an increase in advertised download speeds, which are nudging upwards. New users are likely to be able to benefit from promotional offers which will keep prices relatively stable, however, once outside of these offers, moderate price increases are likely.
