Report Summary:

OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking Q4 - 2021

The latest OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking service is now available for download. The current update includes 2513 single and bundled broadband plans from the 37 OECD countries. Residential and business plans are collected where available. The system covers 123 providers within the OECD countries.

The OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking system contains three groups of baskets, each including five baskets. The system choses the cheapest plan for each provider according to the basket criteria. The basket groups have the same speed ranges but are based on the subscriber usage volume; Low, Medium, and High.

When comparing the OECD High 360GB 100 Mpbs minimum speed basket, in Q4 2021 and Q4 2020, of the OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking system it is inevitable that we cast our eyes immediately to the more expensive end. New entrants in Q4 2021 to this less than desirable end of the table are T-2 in Slovenia, Vodafone in Ireland, and Vodafone in New Zealand. No less than three Vodafone companies warm a spot in the bottom ten for this update. Telmex in Mexico, Movistar in Columbia and BigPondTelstra in Australia have escaped the bottom ten for this update.

Shaw in Canada has the dubious honour of being at the very bottom in Q4 21. Wind in Greece takes the honour for Greece from Cosmote and manages a small climb up the graph.

In contrast at the at the top end of the basket are the usual suspects of Balticom of Latvia, Dansk Kabel TV in Denmark, Digi in Hungary, and Starnet of Czech Republic to name a few.
