OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking – Q3 2022
The latest OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking service is now available for download. The current update includes 2519 single and bundled broadband plans from the 38 OECD countries – extended from 37 to include Costa Rica, the newest OECD member. The system includes both residential and business pricing, however, as business pricing does not form part of the OECD methodology requirement, these prices are only updated on an annual basis, while residential pricing is updated in full each quarter. Business pricing may be updated on a custom basis, on request. The system covers 119 providers within the OECD countries.
The OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking system contains three groups of baskets, each including five baskets. The system choses the cheapest plan for each provider according to the basket criteria. The basket groups have the same speed ranges but are based on the subscriber usage volume; Low, Medium, and High.
The graph below shows the cheapest result per country from this latest update for residential users for the OECD Medium 15 GB, >= 0.25 Mbps basket, with costs presented in USD PPP including VAT per month. This basket is the lowest speed OECD basket and covers all residential broadband services included in the system.
