Report Summary:

As of June 2016, the number of standalone and bundled broadband plans in the Teligen OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking service totalled 2,734 – a small decrease on the number of plans in March 2016. The number of fibre-based packages stands at 45% of all plans, similar to March. 65% of all plans are residential offerings, 55% of which are bundled offerings. In terms of speed, 80% of all plans offer download of 15 Mb/s or above. 48% of plans have an advertised maximum download speed of 45 Mb/s or above, while almost a third of offers are now at least 100 Mb/s (advertised download speed)

The system includes the recently approved OECD baskets for fixed broadband, which comprise 18 baskets, with differing levels of data usage per month, and with speeds ranging from 0.25 Mb/s to 1 Gb/s. For reference, the old baskets are still included in the system.

The format of the system has recently been updated, to more closely reflect that of the other services. The Broadband sheet now incorporates the calculations for the selected basket, in addition to the tariff data. These calculations can be found by scrolling over to the right of the Broadband sheet.

Latvia is now part of the OECD list of countries, however, this was already covered within the system.

If you require any more information on the changes to the baskets, or if you have any difficulty using any of the functions within OECD Fixed Broadband Price Benchmarking, we are available to help.
