North American shipments of connected TV devices grew by 35% year-over-year in Q1 2021 as pandemic constrained consumers continue to place high value in home entertainment products while US government stimulus cheques resulted in a further spike in sales towards the end of the quarter. Amazon was the leading vendor in the quarter in terms of device sales followed by Roku, Samung and Sony. However, Roku's TV OS was the leading streaming platform and holds a strong lead over Amazon's Fire TV OS and Samsung's Tizen.
