Global shipments of TV Streaming Devices fell by 14% year-over-year in Q3 2021 to 70.3 million units. Smart TV shipments declined by 17% as unfavorable comparisons with the record breaking demand levels of Q3 2020 were accentuated by rising TV retail prices. Shipments of streaming media players also fell by more than 10% while game console demand was flat as PS5 and Xbox Series X/S growth was offset by a signifcant decline in Nintendo Switch sales. From a streaming platform perspective, Android TV had a strong quarter knocking Tizen off top spot in terms of units shipped.
