The annual TV Connect event, held in London during 28th-30th April 2015, provided Strategy Analytics Wireless Media Strategies team with an opportunity to assess the importance of mobile in the evolving TV industry. With over 550 million  mobile users set to view video content on their phones in 2018, up from 400 million at the end of 2014 it is clear consumers have a strong and growing appetite for consuming video content on their mobile phone. However, how are key players in the TV industry addressing this demand, and how important is mobile to the TV industry? Is the recent buzz around “mobile first” likely to be resurrected? Last but not least, with LTE Broadcast one of the main agenda items at the conference, we were keen to see if there were significant updates on LTE Broadcast developments.
