Handset Vendor Content & Service Strategies Samsung
Samsung has built extensive content and service assets to go beyond just being the leader in the device market. It is among the industry’s leaders in Mobile Payment, Apps and Devices & OS. Samsung should be in a stronger position to orchestrate its ecosystem when the assets are better aligned and its weak areas improved, especially those related to contextual awareness. Samsung’s strategy provides a valuable marker for other Android licensees on how to differentiate, but not many other companies have the resources to pursue such a strategy as extensively as Samsung has done over the last five years.
