Report Summary:

The June Travel Global Tracker highlights trends in the travel category by measuring how many times apps within that category appear in the top 100 most popular overall Free, Paid and Grossing lists for iPhone. Thus, if out of the top 100 apps, 50 are travel apps the category would earn a 50% share. The goal of this tracker is to highlight the global differences in consumption of individual categories to provide insight to companies seeking to find the next growth area. This tracker will use categories defined by the Apple App Store (with some grouping) and when a Google Play Tracker is released will harmonize data to ensure a comparative view between the app stores. Countries are applied to regions according to the United Nations official taxonomy except for the United Kingdom which is considered Western - not Northern Europe.
