Report Summary:

In 2018, consumers spent almost $517 billion in the US online[1]. And by 2021, mobile commerce (or m-commerce) is expected to reach 53.9% of e-commerce sales[2]. Clearly, online and m-commerce sales are both in an upward growth trajectory. However, concerns about an overall economic downturn in 2019 continue to be a talking point among the media and economists with the potential for consumer purchasing to slowdown. In order to track mobile commerce, AppOptix founded the Consumer Mobile Shopping Index, which tracks the mobile usage of key online retailer apps. This m-shopping index enables the tracking of key metrics to determine the use and growth of this sector.
