Report Summary:

North American SVOD subscriptions got a large boost from the launch of Disney+ in November 2019, adding nearly 61 million new subscription in 2019 (of which nearly 42% can be attributed to Disney+) to reach 235 million subscriptions. While it is highly unlikely that Disney+ will add another 25 million subscribers  in 2020, with the continued growth of Disney+ and the launch of HBO MAX and Quibi Strategy Analytics anticipates that SVOD subscriptions will grow by nearly 35 million in 2020, on par with the past several years, reaching 270 million.

Latin America added 8.2 million SVOD subscriptions in 2019, up 25% YoY, to reach a total of nearly 42 million subscription in the region. This will grow to nearly 50 million in 2020, and reach 86 million by year-end 2025. Unlike North America which has numerous SVOD services competing for consumers subscription video dollar, Latin America is dominated by Netflix.

This report provides detailed subscriber and revenue forecasts by SVOD service for North America and Latin America. In addition to Total SVOD HHs, subscriptions and revenues, individual SVOD services covered include Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+ and other regional SVOD services.
