Survey Says TV Shows Have Digital Value

Report Summary:

We just got the results back from our latest Digital Media and TV Survey. It’s clear from our survey that there is an increasing appetite among US consumers to buy digital video content at an “acceptable” price. However, while an increasing number of consumers seem to indicate that a couple of dollars is an acceptable price to pay for a TV episode, paying around $15 for a digital copy of a movie appears less acceptable. Is it time for the studios to rethink their strategy and start focusing on driving the electronic sell-through market by significantly reducing the price of digital movies? Our survey results also indicate that Apple iTunes leads the market with Amazon and Xbox jousting for the number two spot while PlayStation brings up the rear.
