As SVOD subscriptions grow, Netflix’s share is declining

Global SVOD subscriptions passed 698M in Q2 2020, up 6.5% QoQ, among SVOD services tracked. Disney+ (24.0M), Netflix (10.0M) and Hulu (3.3M) combined to account for nearly 75% of new SVOD subscribers in Q2 2020, among SVOD services tracked. Combined Disney services (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+) accounted for nearly 56% of new SVOD subscribers.
Despite leading the market and seeing monthly active users (MAUs) grow by 8.0% QoQ in Q2 2020 Roku saw its share of MAUs decline from 28.1% in Q1 2020 to 25.8% in Q2 2020. Driving this decline was the grow of Crackle Plus, whose share of MAUs was up 2.8 share poinrts and Xumo, up 1.3 share points.
