Strategy Analytics' VOD Service Performance Benchmarking Report analyzes quarterly subscribers, monthly active user (MAU), and revenue trends for 34 SVOD services. Services added to the tracker in in Q2 2021 include Foxtel NOW, Kayo Sport, and Binge. Also new is revenue for Tencent Video, Crunchyroll, and HUB+.
Global SVOD services tracked added 37.99M subscribers in Q1 2022, reaching 1,140.49B. Leading the way was Disney+ with 7.90M net adds, Paramount+ (6.80M), and iQiyi (4.40M). Combined these three services accounted for 50% of net adds in Q1 2022. Despite having a net loss for the first time in 5+ years Netflix was still the largest single SVOD service with 221.64M subscribers, however with 205.50M subscribers across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, Disney is nipping at Netflix heels.
