North American households are on pace to add nearly 60M SVOD subscriptions in 2020. (including HBO, Showtime, and Starz), to reach nearly 370M subscriptions. On pace to add 15.3M subscription in 2020, Disney+ is the market leader in terms of net adds in 2020, followed by Hulu (12.5M) and Amazon Prime Video (7.0M). While HBO/HBO MAX did not reach this level in of growth in 2020 with their strategy to release all movies produced by WarnerMedia on HBO MAX day and date with theaters HBO MAX is well positioned for growth in 2021.
Latin America added 8.8 million SVOD subscriptions in 2020, reaching a total of 52 million subscription in the region, up 20% YoY.
