Strategy Analytics' VOD Service Performance Benchmarking Report analyzes quarterly subscribers, monthly active user (MAU), and revenue trends for 36 publicly traded SVOD and AVOD services. Services added to the tracker in ViaPlay, Hub+ and BritBox.
Global SVOD subscriptions passed 915M in Q1 2021, up 47.4M QoQ, among SVOD services tracked, however this is well below the previous three quarters which averaged 56.8M net adds. Leading the way was Disney+, with 8.7M net adds, Discovery (7.0M), and Amazon Prime Video (6.6M). Combined these three services accounted for 43% of new SVOD subscribers in Q1 2021, among SVOD services tracked. Combined Disney services (Disney+, Hulu, Hulu = Live TV, ESPN+) accounted for 22% of new SVOD subscribers.
