Report Summary:

North America’s advertising market improved by 4.9 per cent in 2012 totaling over $169 billion. Despite continued growth over the past three years, we do not anticipate it will reach 2007 peak level until 2015. Traditional media will remain flat over the forecast period and it will remain below peak 2007 levels as we continue to see advertising dollars shift to online media. While traditional advertising make up for 80 per cent of North America’s total advertising market, online advertising continued to boost strong growth reaching $33.5 billion in 2012, a 13.3 per cent growth from 2011. We expect online advertising to account for about 29 per cent of total advertising market by 2018 with revenues reaching over $60 billion.
