Service Provider Quarterly Recap and Guidance Verizon (VZ) CYQ411
While the cable companies continue to struggle, Verizon (VZ) once again grew its video subscriber base in CYQ4’11, marking the seventeenth consecutive quarter of net new subscriber additions. The firm remains the fifth largest Pay TV provider in the US, with over 4.1 million Pay TV subscribers at the end of 2011. DSL subscriber numbers continued to slide, with more than 100,000 cancellations in the fourth quarter. However, DSL losses are more than offset by the growth in fiber Broadband subscribers. For 2012, Strategy Analytics forecasts continued growth on both the Pay TV and Broadband businesses. This presentation, the latest in a new series of "Service Provider Quarterly Recap and Guidance" capsules, provides clients a snapshot of quarterly performance by selected global Service Providers, tracks key financial metrics, subscriber and ARPU trends, and offers forecasted guidance on year-end revenues, ARPU, and subscriber numbers.
