Strategy Analytics (Digital Consumer Team) conducted an online survey of consumer electronics purchase intentions. This bulletin presents purchase intention data for TVs, HDTVs, smart/connected TVs, Ultra HD/4K TVs, Blu-ray disc players, connected TV players, Apple TV and other devices across the US and 4 European countries (UK, Germany, France, Italy).
Our latest data shows that the purchase intentions for UHD TV/4K TV and Connected/Smart TV devices have increased in the US and European markets. Participants in the US and Italy have shown stronger interest in UHD TV/4K TV and Connected/Smart TV which is the highest since Q3 2012. German consumers’ TV buying intentions have fallen in 2015 to an all time low. Consumers buying intentions for the Blu-ray player, connected TV player and the Apple TV have increased strongly since Q4 2014.
