Q1 '17 Global Business Smartphone Shipments Rebound, while Business Tablets Continued to Plummet



Report Summary:

The first quarter of 2017 was a sound quarter for business smartphones, but the worldwide business tablet market continued to plummet. Smartphone vendors shipped a total of 101.0 million business smartphones worldwide in Q1 2017, up 9.5% from 92.2 million units in Q1 2016. The worldwide business tablet market once again contracted in Q1 2017, with a YoY decline of 9.4% and total shipments of just 16.1 million across the entire industry. The decline was primarily due to a strong quarter in Q4 2016 and companies are refrained from spending until new hardware & vendor portfolio updates in latter part of 2017.
