Report Summary:

After its historic move to license the Windows Phone 7 operation system for future Nokia devices in February this year, Nokia today announced forthcoming software updates to bring Microsoft productivity apps to all Nokia Symbian Belle smartphones. The first free update called Microsoft Apps will be available by the end of Q4 2011, and deliver a suite of Microsoft collaboration and productivity applications including Microsoft OneNote, Microsoft Lync 2010 Mobile, Microsoft Document Connection, and Microsoft PowerPoint Broadcast, to all Symbian Belle devices. Early next year, Nokia will provide OneNote synchronization with Sharepoint and will add Word, Excel and PowerPoint as native apps for the first time outside the Windows platform.
