Following the protracted complaints by a minister in the Indian government in 2008, RIM has most recently been targeted by the UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, which claimed that: "Blackberry data is immediately exported off-shore, where it is managed by a foreign, commercial organization. Blackberry data services are currently the only data services operating in the UAE where this is the case.” Saudi Arabia had also threatened to limit some BlackBerry services, although the possibility of this has since diminished substantially.
