Global smartwatch revenues in Q1 2018 were up 39% YoY with the industry ARPU averaging US$307 after a record first quarter for the Apple Watch. Samsung had a strong quarter, more than doubling both volume and value share QoQ, while Garmin again held steady due to continued success in Europe.  Apple and Huawei have met limited success with ultra high-end smartwatches, therefore it is the sub-US$500 segment that counts for roughly 4 of every 5 units sold and, more than 57% of dollars spent. Our report tracks smartwatch revenues and shipments market share for leading vendors by quarter from 2013 to Q1 2018.
