Competition has been fierce in the tablet market as new form factors and OSes experienced faster growth than traditional market leaders in 2016. What does 2017 have in store? The global tablet market shrank in Q1 2017, with shipments falling 10% year-on-year to 42.1 million units. Windows market share grew by 1 percentage point during the period to reach 15% market share of global shipments, mostly at the expense of iOS as Android held steady.
