Report Summary:

Building on the 80+ tablets on display at CES 2011, MWC in Barcelona provided a further indication of the devices we can expect to enjoy later in the year. Android 3.0 was demonstrated by Samsung and LG, following the first promotion of Honeycomb by Motorola in Las Vegas a few weeks earlier. RIM’s Playbook has created a solid presence as a consumer proposition, and HP’s Web OS also looks encouraging. A MeeGo tablet from Intel appeared rather unfinished. However, many vendors had not yet developed the commercial aspects of their offerings, and launch dates, prices, and even target markets remained fairly sketchy.
