The COVID era, which largely defined the years between 2020 and 2023, had a significant impact on the notebook PC market which will continue to resonate through the end of the forecast period of 2028. While shipments have declined since their height in 2021, we expect a larger customer base to begin a new upgrade cycle en masse in 2024, with a new peak of notebook shipments seen in 2025. Windows 10 end-of-service will encourage a significant refresh cycle, as MacOS pushes further into the commercial market to challenge Windows dominance. Chrome will remain strong in the public sector, however without a further push into other commercial sectors, it is unlikely Chrome will see further growth. This report forecasts notebook PC shipments and wholesale market value by operating system for 6 major regions from 2010 to 2028. This report is published during Q3 2023, following actual Q2 2023 results.
