Much of the region moved back closer to normal during Q2 2021 as the Delta variant had yet to take hold, which was a big change compared to some of the darkest days of the pandemic in Q2 2020. Despite this reduced urgency for mobile computing devices, demand was still stronger than pre-pandemic levels and top vendors began to have trouble keeping up on the supply side. Going into fall, vaccination hold-outs and new COVID variants add a level of uncertainty on top of a precarious supply situation for the next six to nine months.
